Class and gender differences in experiences of education th , 2016. They don"t always do better sometimes (labeling theory) but they also usually don"t go as far (higher education), wealthier kids have the resources to go further in life. Argument that schools provide everyone with opportunities necessary to overcome and eliminate oppression. Students from low-income households more likely to work, have less study time, sleep less. Tracking from an early age (i. e. placement in advanced/honours classes) streamed learning makes it harder to advance. Not all school boards (or schools within same board) have the same level of resources. Clip: a tale of two schools, wealthy school with a lot of funding, poorer school with the same amount of funding (but they can"t stretch it as far) Community college promotes as pathway to 4 year degree, not a failsafe option. High achievers from under-resourced high schools shown to struggle at university. Willingness/ability to get in debt for school.
