Based the idea that criminal behaviour injures, victims, communities and offenders. All of these groups should be involved when we are trying to address criminal behaviour. Restive justice isn"t a speci c practice itself- its a set of principles. All focus on preventing future harm, reintegrating, healing, and reparation. Con rming obligations of offenders families communities and society. Traditional : who did it and what crime. Restorative: victims, and how to prevent other crimes. Can be implemented at a variety of stages. Initiated by the police, they can send you off there (pre-charge) Initiated by the crown )pre charge or conviction) , maybe you work out a deal with the crown. Corrections ( post sentence, pre reintegration, integration) They allow the opportunity for crime victims and offenders to communicate. Takes responsibility for their of ce and consequences. Occur with the assistance with a trained mediator. To be considered the offender must say they are guilty.
