Research and sources of youth crime: the (cid:498)facts(cid:499) of youth crime. Not in depth stories but even then bias. Not looking at all types of crimes that are out there. Gives a sense of crime rates in certain towns (homeowners) Filtered system, filter out from the bottom and only certain amount there out of pool of crime that is out there after filtering process. Ucr doesn"t take in account people who are deceased. Don"t do a good job when it comes to corporate crime. Accounts for some crime that wasn"t recorder and wont be in the ucr. Computer stolen, don"t tell lack of embarrassment and shame associated. Occupational crime, certain things these surveys don"t record accurately ex. 1 in 10 sexual assaults are not reported. Interview people over a long period (10-20) go back every year and see victimization individuals have had within the neighborhood (ex. may not report lost phone but you were victimized and your property was stolen)
