Intestinal cells, group of stem cells at the bottom that keep dividing and self-renewing so that the population is maintained. As a consequence the wall of the intestine will always maintain the same thickness. Cancers often originate from these stem cells resulting in uncontrolled division. Losing 1. 5g of skin per day, they need to be replaced. Turn into white and red blood cells, then immune system gives rise to immune cells. Could cut them in any direction and they would regrow or regenerate. Germ line has a completely different function in this organism. Process to describe this is generally called trans-differentiation. Have to take the cell type that is already differentiated and turn it into another cell type. The other type here can be stem cells. Cell type can reverse and turn into a stem cell this is typically not how it works. Take a somatic nucleus (nucleus from somatic cell) put it into an egg without a nucleus.
