BIOL130L Lecture Notes - Lecture 7: Xanthophyll, Photosynthetic Pigment, The Leaves
Document Summary
Biol 130 lab, 2017 october 28th, room number stc 4008. The purpose of this lab was to calculate the concentration of the unknown solution by using lambert beer"s law. Lambert beer"s law is a law that shows relationship between the reduction of the intensity of the light while passing through a material to the total length of the light while it passes through the material. A is the absorption value, and c is the concentration (daintith, 2008). This means that the intensity of the light passing through the tested material disappears in an exponential speed depending on the concentration or the thickness of the material (daintith, 2008). One of the definition of absorption spectrum is a spectrum that is produced when the sample absorbs electromagnetic radiation (2006). The concentration curve could be drawn by using the relationship between the lambert-beer"s law by drawing a graph of absorption vs. the concentration values.
