Document Summary
Vlookup (vertical lookup): nd an entry in a table given a search key. (value to lookup, (the key), table to search, column, true/false) Closest match (true): closest value not exceeding (price is right) Exact match (false): rst entry near the top to match. Do not include header as part of the named range. Wildcard (label pattern): labels matching part of a search key. Indirect: takes a label as its only parameter and treats it as a cell address of cell range (can be combined with many different formulas) Sumproduct: takes two parameters- nds the sum of the corresponding cell values in each range. Use-independant inputs (together) e. g. base price small pizza. Use-speci c inputs e. g. # of pizzas ordered. Most important output should be in a prominent position. Use labels to identify meaning of each number in a spreadsheet.
