Flip a coin, if heads tell your own story, if tails tell the other person"s story. Investigators have to ask questions to find out if c is lying or not they got it wrong :p. Confidence is not a good indicator of accuracy in a witness or investigator. Obtaining a confession want to obtain information from a witness and a confession from a suspect these things don"t always align. E. g. acting like a witness but interviewer believes they are the suspect change interviewing tactic to interrogation. May stop giving you accurate information because they are now under threat. E. g. if you are treating a subject like a witness, it gives them a better opportunity to create a story and mislead you.
