Why is education important: education increases the competencies and confidence in order to manage their own self-care, education for staff and students teaches them how to deliver high-quality care. Improve quality of life: decrease incidence of illness complications. Increase compliance with treatment: decrease anxiety, maximize independence. Client education: helping clients learn health-related behaviours to achieve the goal of optimal health and independence in self-care. Staff education: helping nurses acquire knowledge, attitudes, skills to improve delivery of quality care to consumer.
