People who grow up in an environment that is economically insecure make most of their political decisions related to economics e. g. jobs. New political ideas rose to prominence e. g. civil rights movement, second-wave feminism, decolonization movement, environmentalism, human rights. Direct outcome to the horrors of the holocaust in ww2. 1962 rachel carson wrote a book called silent spring beginning of environmental movement.
