Neutral stimulus eventually comes to be associated with the reflex. Ie. tone, harness began to make the dogs salivate. Bell rings no response (may turn to look but neutral response regarding salivation) Less conditioning- predicting what will go next, adaptive. After associated with unconditioned stimuli, comes to trigger conditioned response. Increase intensity of behaviour if conditioned stimuli is presented alone.
