Deals with identity politics and acts as a push. Not all in gallery spaces, although some interact with one. Media and performance: source of documentation and layering of the art itself to become part of the work. Spontaneous performance, z rich dada inscriptive, reaction against wwi (~1917), not much documentation, data becomes performance art especially around the 1960s. Sense of how art can be performed with the likes of jackson pollock. Fluxes is one of the first performance art movement along with yoko ono. Performance, body, land, earth, sculpture, photography and filmed. Died very young, belief she could have been murdered. Uses performance to frame the body in a ritualistic action. Not always crystal clear, can always be open in its context. Reading by the lens of photography and of photographs; gives the piece a life, a legacy and performances. Not all performances were done in public, many were private and documented in a particular way.
