Every time you get a cold you get a different virus. Minor illness creates damage through microbes that eat you and create damage. We live in a microbial word the human body is under constant attack. We are always covered in bacteria and they will eat you if you give them the chance. Immune system defends us, without a defense the microbes win. When we make a vaccine we manipulate immune system this is how we skip the sick part and just obtain immunity. Cold symptoms caused by innate immune system (sneezing, runny nose, watery eyes) Immune system retains a memory of the infection. Next time same microbe invades the response is immediate and strong. At the end of the antibody there is a specific shape that is a 3d multi-chemical. Immune system can recognize bacteria by looking at a small part of the bacteria. Cannot store large amounts of antibodies (limited space in our body)
