A good paragraph has signifigance, support (citation, analysis numbers), substance. Next 3-6 provide the data/citations that support the topic sentence. Last 1-2 sentences summarize the value of the data and relate the paragraph to the thesis. Leads reader toward a final punch - usually from a general idea to something specific. Order from least to most significant points; otherwise the paragraphs will appear anticlimactic. Sentence: asks a questions; commonly a paragraph that uses a questions as an opening tactic. Maybe just one significant question which you answer in the introduction. Give all relevant definitions of a term or concept. Victorian fashion: explain what a bustle is and its function (politics, life, art connection)
