Physiographic regions: great lakes st lawrence lowlands, canadian. Climatic zones: artic, subarctic and great lakes st lawrence. Two sub-regions: northern : resource-based economy, forestry, southern: built on agriculture and manufacturing. Accounts for much of canada"s agriculture output. Southern has long and warm summer, and frigid winter. 10 000 jobs linked to agriculture (broad) Price of farmland is much lower than urban land. Air pollution : caused by automobile dependency, coal-burning thermoelectric plants. Difference before and after colonization by various groups. Successful manufacturing due to proximity of us, minimal transportation costs due to concentrated population. Ipperwash : used to build military camp, wasn"t given back (even though promised), protests began and one was shot by police. A few are relocating outside of canada. Overall jobs lower than past few years.
