Gov trusteeship over reserves would end and there would be the fee structure ownership. Basically they would relieve themselves of some of their jobs in reserves. Settling disputes of land claims would not settle the hardships they lived through. Indian affairs would be wound down and the services would be transferred to existing departments. It is still important because it regulates the relationship between ottawa and indigenous peoples. Concerns that if ottawa would evacuate their jobs, there would be problems between the indigenous and the provinces. Ottawa did not consult the indigenous peoples on this matter.
