Document Summary
Sexuality: definitions and dimensions there is no one definiton of human sexuality, there are some that are more complete than others but it depends on what dimension you are coming from. Sexuality is a central aspect of being human throughout life and encompasses sex, gender identities and roles, sexual orientation, eroticism, pleasure, intimacy and reproduction. Sexuality is experienced and expressed in thoughts, fantasies, desires, beliefs, attitudes, values, behaviors, practices, roles and relationships. While sexuality can include all of these dimensions, not all of them are always expressed. Sexuality is influenced by the interaction of biological, psychological, social, economic, political, cultural, ethical, legal, historical and religious and spiritual factors. Human sexuality is multi-dimensional and she proposes a six dimensional model: just like any other model it is not perfect and there are several various models. Biological: gender has a biological dimension but it also has some other complex dimension, examples of biological aspects of sexuality: sex: male/ female.
