Stigma and a taboo around the real words for the terms so we create all these words and expressions in order to avoid using the correct words because it feels uncomfortable. A lot of terms we use to describe the genitals are derogatory. They"re important but we"re not comfortable with them. The idea of private parts is pretty common in society and we teach children about their bodies, we talk about. Insecurities about our own genitals (socialization) genitals as being private parts. Private parts can be extrapolated as things that are hidden or secret that we don"t talk about. Culture gives us meaning, the fact that we have words for genitals that are there to avoid saying the real words, baby- ish funny or immature, or derogatory or violent. We also have individually how we feel about them.
