Parents - 1st socializers: the number, marital status, sex, sexual orientation, and age of a child"s parent-figures may help to shape the child. Teacher or government job: young parents, highly risky; babies more likely to be premature. Likely to be raised in single-parent home: teens are still finding their own identity. Late parents: children can expect a stable home, financial income, good neighbourhood, older women at greater risk for problems, reproductive technologies; at risk for multiple births.
