Any perceived deviation from standard mental state that could potentially affect affective, behavioural and/or cognitive functioning . Doesn"t fit into the norm ( hence abnormal psychological disorder . Disorder = social/ cultural value violation: laziness, selfish, racism, ignorance, poverty, unemployment, working parents, political views, religion. How we measure normality depends on our social or cultural norms. Koro the fear in asian cultures that the genitals are attacking them/ retracting. When someone goes to get medical examinations and they continue to believe that their penis is reacting inside of them, you would think they are delusional but it really resembles ocd. Lata malaysia, syndrome where people are surprised or spooked and they will dance around and scream etc.
