Bulimia nervosa: a cycle of binging and purging, both occur at least once a week for there months. Binge: eating a lot, sometimes junk food but not always, a binge is subjective to the individual viewing the amount of food and culturally determined by sociocultural implications. Objective binge: socioculturally determined abnormally large amount of food and a loss of self control. Subjective binge: normal or small amount of food perceived by the individual who is eating as a large amount of food and a lost of self control. Objective binges have more weight related health disorders and can be linked with binge eating disorder. Amount of food doesn"t matter, individuals can have the same weight and shape regardless. Similar in distress, impairment, and quality of life.
