According to warwick and salkovskis, hypochondriasis (illness anxiety/somatic symptom disorder) results from the catastrophic misinterpretation of certain bodily sensations (?) You should consider malingering when somebody is motivated by external incentives to intentionally produce symptoms. Schizophrenia symptoms must be present for 6+ months and schizophreniform must be present for 1-6 months. 2+ of the following for a 1 month period, at least one must be (1), (2), or (3: delusions, hallucinations, disorganized speech, grossly disorganized or canonic behaviour, negative symptoms. May not have all these symptoms for 6 months but have symptoms similar or related for 6 months. Ex: o belifs sort of like hallucinations or delusions. Reporting unusual perceptual experiences that aren"t quite hallucinations. Need the symptoms for 1 month, then for 6 months u can have the impairment and odd symptoms for 6 months. The 1 month period can be anywhere within the 6 months.
