Socrates says; the differences do not follow that they cannot do the same function as men, nothing stops them from doing the function of ruler ship. Abolition of the family in the guardian auxiliary class: the central issue is that the guardian class should have no private property. Socrates says that he wants to create a situation where the only set of loyalties are to the polis as a whole; by having no private property and family, no values will come in between. Divorcing the individual interests from the universal interest of the polis. Is this ideal polis possible; called a city of words.
