Science is concerned with contingencies --> as far as correct thinking is concerned, it could be true, it could be false. Climate change; this idea could be true or could be false. You wouldn"t make an error of thinking if you assume that it is true or false (minus evidence). You might have a big body of evidence with the proposition; that could be conceptually necessary. Apriori - you don"t have to worry about the facts. Aposteriori - as far as correct thinking is concerned, it could be true/false. Empiricism is the philosophical position which says in order to tell whether a contingent proposition is true, you have to look at what your senses tell you.
