Feelings of affection and caring- strong bond and concerned about each others well being. Involves caring and feelings of affection - care about each other and have feelings. Can be feelings of romantic love, companionate love, Having knowledge- extensive personal knowledge of each other. Self disclosure- tell your secrets, fears, intimate details. Intimacy also involves openness- open to sharing information. Open to listening and accepting what the other person shares. Therefore the sharing of information, has to take place within a context of honesty. Mutuality-as relationships become more intimate; start saying (we, us etc) Include aspects of the other person in our self concept. Include other peoples possessions in our self concepts (what"s yours is mine) Trust- need to trust those you are sharing your intimate details with.
