Document Summary
Evaluative, represents your judgments of yourself (i"m glad that i"m popular) Judges whether being popular is a good thing. Reflects interpersonal relationships, roles you occupy in society and the commitments to those roles, beliefs - collection of all these things that make up who you are. Sense of being doesn"t change as you develop. Changes in self conception, personality and self esteem. Self conceptions become more abstract- understand that what is happening right now is just a subset of what is possible. Become aware of what is happening is a subset of what is possible- think about all the possibilities. Becomes more differentiated- take into account the situation or the context (ex: being very shy or reserved when with parents but life of the party when they are with their friends) Even though i may behave differently in different situationsthey still reflect who i am. Use more sophisticative reflecting abilities- how others see me and how i see myself.
