When we started off sex meant the anatomy of the individual. Then starts to take on a new meaning. Late 19th century sex describes the whole topic of genitals and their functions. Mid 20th century- more active ex (sexual attraction, to have sex) Associated with an act but also a phenomenon. Gender refers to a collection of cognitive, behavioural and personality traits. Male or female is no longer defined by your physical anatomy. Sexuality is a term that embraces all the topics that can be discussed in this course. Sexuality is something that is experienced and expressed - doesn"t have to be in the act of sex, can be the things you believe. Sexuality has a lot of dimensions but not all are expressed. Sexual relationships- last a few mins or decades, motivated by a number of reasons. How we each think a sexual relationship should be is thought of differently by people.
