Drug actions at the synapse: agonists enhance the activity of a neurotransmitter, antagonists reduce the activity of a neurotransmitter, so, these act in opposite ways! Think back: how could a drug affect postsynaptic activities, it could affect binding at the receptor sites (interfere or enhance binding), it could affect reuptake, it could affect activation, we can interfere at any stage with the drug!
