Why psychology is not a natural science (but how it could be): implications for forensic. Stanford university tried to replicate 100 famous psychological studies. Many psychology students are unaware about this, because it is a very serious threat to the structure of psychology as a science. Out of these 100 studies, only 1/3 of the studies replicated, and 66% did not replicate. This means that we really need to rethink about what we are doing. Why are they not replicating: there are a number of ways that people can go about dealing with why psychological studies do not replicate, 1) most appealing when doing psychological studies, you usually see 2-3, maybe 4 independent variables. However, there are no psychological studies that will look at all of these diverse factors" in uence on the outcome measures, due to insuf cient time and ef ciency.
