ANA300Y1 Lecture Notes - Lecture 30: Anterior Cruciate Ligament, Medial Collateral Ligament, Fibular Collateral Ligament
Document Summary
Extension of knee, increases angle between articulating elements straighten knee when bend you are flexing it flexion of hip brings femur forward and flexion of knee brings tibia backward. Synovial membrane lining every surface in joint space that isn"t articular, creating synovial fluid. Patellar ligament not a lot of tissue fluid in dense connective tissue. Posterior cruciate ligament , articulates with medial condyle, attaches to tibia and medial condyle of femur. Posterior cruciate ligament attached to tibia and anterior cruciate ligament there, but when they ascend they cross in the middle, and ascend up and attach to the condyles and come towards you. Anterior cruciate ligament tight stabilizing the knee but closer to snapping since its tight. Posterior stabilizing fixed knee, anterior stabilizing extended knee keeping round thing on flat thing got cruciate ligaments preventing anterior posterior movement and collateral ligaments stabilizing extended knee.
