Biochemistry: major components of cells are made from complex organic molecules, carbohydrates: provide energy and cellular structure. Chirality of amino acids: show specific handedness . Left or right handed: all living cells use only the left handed versions of amino acids to build proteins. Molecule of water: h2o simple asymmetric molecule, polar molecule, charge excess is very small, yet permits the hydrogen bonds to occur.
