Media stereotypes: depict punishment in sharia as very brutal, often misrepresented, hadd punishments, brutal punishment refer to a specific type of crime which have many barriers to conviction, very small set of crimes. Lots of exceptions and restrictions and ambiguities that prevent those brutal punishments from happening often: very high standard of proof for those crimes, very high threshold, because their understood to be crimes against god.
