Emptiness has previously been translated into english scripts incorrectly as meaning void" or nothingness" when in reality its meaning is non permanence. Many of the central taoist principles focus on the importance of emptiness as a representation of things that cannot be possessed or things that lack permanence. Things that are normally referred to as intrinsically empty" are the most important aspects of one"s life because of the fact that they are fleeting, and cannot be experienced or kept forever.
