So far been concerned with process of science. Now focus on the content on the mosaic. The key elements of this mosaic accepted until end of 17th century. Humorist physiology, cosmology, theology, metaphysics, mathematics, optics, natural history, aristotelian medieval method. 4 elements: air, fire, water, earth law of natural motion: all elements in their natural state tend to reach their natural positions and to remain there. The natural positon of heavy element is the center of universe. The natural position of light elements toward the periphery of the terrestrial region. Intuitively they see days we accept a somewhat similar idea of the four states of matter: solid, liquid, gaseous, plasma. The four terrestrial elements are characterized by sensible qualities. Transformability: elements can transform to one another.
