Note: indiviidually we may have diff views on the subject. What we are interested is the view implicit in our contemporary scientific mosaic. Neuroscience: the mind is a product of brain processes. Still dualism because you still have entities that are both pure matter, pure spiritual and those that have both. You would no longer have a category of pure matter so it"s no longer dualism. It"s idealism : there is only one substance mind. You may argue that there is still matter it"s just mixed with mind. Idealism says material objects cannot exist without some underlying mental structure. Ans: dualism because you still believe that there are 2 substances spiritual and material, mind and matter. Version of materialism you normally have in mind: everything is material in a material world and at certain stage of development of this material world you arrive at a certain species that has brains capable of producing thoughts.
