Document Summary
Neruons and experience: neruons can be thought of as being either on or off -> either activated or not, how these neurons inform our mind for object recognition. Hubel and wiesel: feature detectors: how does neuron help to make sense of object. They wanted to see primary visual cortex -> they investigated in cats [ similar to human perception: trying to find neuron that response to specific things. At centre of neuron there will be large activation. Neuron was activated for specific shade, direction and light. Found that over time -> neurons become more and more advance and complex: what they theorized that this is how we construct faces and objects -> as you progress you add more and more complex things. Monday, february 27, 2017: cognition vs. neuroscience : we know feature detector will be added together to inform us how we see faces -> aim is to find specific neruons and area that govern [ listen again 28:00:00]
