Don"t scare a vulture feeding on a dead zebra. European ships discharged their ballast water into lake st. clair, canada. Within 2 years they were found in all 5 great lakes. Hundreds of millions of dollars of damage to property. Any species exists in an environment: physical environment and the environment in which they interact with other species. Clownfish: safe in anemone because it cannot be stung, protected from other animals. Cuckoo (cowbird: goes into grouper"s mouth to clean out debris and stuff as nutrition, parasite, cuckoo mother will destroy any nest the other bird makes if they are abandoned. Predation, parasitism, herbivory one benefits, other loses out. Amensalism one is being harmed, but nothing happens to the other. Evolution favours things that enhance survival and reproduction. Evolution drives mutualism to occur and lessens competition. Selection will not favour organisms involved in severe competition.
