Epistemology is the study of knowledge and justified belief. Science is a systematic and logical approach to discovering how things in the universe work. It is also the body of knowledge accumulated through the discoveries about all the things in the universe. The word science is derived from the latin word scientia, which is knowledge based on demonstrable and reproducible data. Science aims for measurable results through testing and analysis. Science is based on fact, not opinion or preferences. Theory hypothesis/question operationalization design of study getting data analysis of data interpretation of data implications for theory. Has potential to be problematic because it fixes concepts together. Makes it easier to see things one dimensionally. The epistemology of the scientific method aims for abstract knowledge that is at once timeless and universal. It assumes a method of knowing that is objective and value-free.
