Document Summary

Feb 14 systemic circulation major arteries and veins. Common carotid supplies most but not all blood to brain. And subclavian most but not all to upper limbs carotid artery goes into cranial cavity to brain to follow internal carotid to skull goes in through carotid canal and travels medially into cranial cavity to foramen lacerum. Circle of willis: brain is so important what if one source of blood gets backed up internal carotid canal through skull foramen laverum. Vertebral artery (first branch off subclavian) travels through transfverse foamen. Here is cut end of internal carotid one of the two blood vessels that supply circle of willis anastomosis.
