Anatomy and Cell Biology 3319 Lecture Notes - Lecture 33: Heart Murmur, Heart Valve, Umbilical Cord
Document Summary
Heart and lungs and rest of the body. Pulmonary circulation: from the heart to the lungs: carry deoxygenated blood and then oxygenate. Heart may pump gallons of blood every minute but it doesn"t have accesss to deoxygenated blood: coronary circulation: provide blood to heart if blocked mi may occur. Systemic circulation: to the rest of the body. Atria and ventricles 4 chambers: heart rotates during development and so the left atrium points a little posteriorly (hiding behind) Aorta as the ascending aorta: gives rise to: brachiocephalic trunk: right side, will give rise to the right common carotid artery and right subclavian artery, left common carotid artery, left subclavian artery. Right coronary artery: between right atria and ventricle. Left coronary artery: branch into: circumflex artery, anterior interventricular artery. Superior and inferior vena cava visible travelling at the back surface. Left pulmonary artery and right pulmonary artery bifurcate to left and right lung.
