Culture seems to be the best when they"re our own when we aren"t thinking about it at all. Understanding others happens when we step outside the walls of our knowledge/experiences focus on others. We"ve been brought up with certain systems of beliefs. Think about the way others view things recognize that there is diversity. Culture is always changing what keeps culture alive. Fear of dislike/trust of immigrants or foreigners etc. (people considered different) Etc: largely older, white, middle/upper class people. Idea that race is a biological category it is not! Ignores the participation of elites or powerful people in racism. Racists don"t know anything etc. , they"re uneducated . Referentialist ideology: the function of language is to pass on information the easy transmission of truth etc. You say something, and transfer things in a literal way.
