Its not just who you are but relative to who you"re talking about. Your positionally and skew and shift objectivity of something. Foxes roam around in large areas so they know little about a lot of things. Vs knowing a lot about one or few things. There are some who focus on one main topic their entire careers while others tackle several topics. Hedgehog behaviour is starting off with something and sticking to it. Disciplines tend to ourish by doing both. Common pattern in anthro is people sticking to same location while others change locations but stick to same topic. Thick description in ethnography means covering whole range of different aspects. Bill mauer works on nance and nancial networks. He works in lots of different locations (as marcus recommends) He doesn"t feel the need to return to initial site. Changing locations is how you create thickness. Verde mait looks at migration groups in several locations.
