Chemicals mix when root is grated loses potency quickly. Similar to true cinnamon from sri lanka, but spicier. Buds are also used as a spice and resemble cloves. Rhizomes processed into paste, dried powder, and preserved slices. Stigmas are removed from flowers and dried. Mace derived from net-like aril wrapped around pit. Nicotine alkaloid made in roots and transported to leaves. Passes through bbb faster than heroine or caffeine releases dopamine. Milky latex harvested from unripe cpasules of poppy. Parasitic fungus that grows on wheat and rye. Fungus produces alkaloids (ergotamine causes abortions, feeling of being on fire, gangrene, convulsions). Not currently scheduled in canada, but sale to minors is prohibited.
