Document Summary

Internal of organisms were very constant even when conditions on the outside of organisms were different from the inside. Variables temperature, ph, osmotic body pressure if it"s too (cid:272)o(cid:374)(cid:272)e(cid:374)trated outside cells you will shrink, if it"s too dilute (cid:455)ou (cid:449)ill e(cid:454)plode, glu(cid:272)ose, io(cid:374)s, gases, o(cid:454)(cid:455)ge(cid:374), co2 waste. When you eat it goes up and afterwards something brings it back down. Discovered that liver regulated glucose but did not know how it worked. Some animals functioned regularly throughout the seasons, whereas some animals had to hide away or protect themselves from the changing seasons and climate. Not everything is regulated all the time it does not mean the animals are less fit or less highly evolved it means they have different strategy. A) temperature is not regulated => exothermic; as external temperature increases so does internal temperature; organism lets body temperature vary. B) temperature is regulated => endothermic homoeothermic; external temperature has no effect on the internal temperature of animals.
