The forum denotes the public world" outside of one"s house where people could buy things and discuss public business. Greeks on the romans: most of the myths of this period are greek myths adapted by roman poets. Roman myth (i. e. independent from anything in greece) is rare. There are some stories about the foundation of rome (ex. Romulus and remus) but stories of roman heroes and gods doing things independent of any greek story are almost non-existent. Behind both the greeks and the romans is the indo-european culture. This creates a common ground between them (they looked at the world in which they lived and they recognized powerful supernatural forces). Like the greeks, the romans had the impression that divine forces pervaded the world.
