Titus had been promoted as emperor before his death he had been consul, helped with the census, stopped the judean revolt and was made the head of the praetorian guard in 79 ad. Titus entered his position with a poor reputation despite his military brilliance and that he was a clear successor: very aggressive praetorian prefect- he was quick to arrest people that could harm the empire. The people took the action as tyranny: people first thought of him as another nero but he had no vices but many virtues which changed their opinion of him. Titus bans treason trials, exiles and punishes informers for telling during nero reign informers were popular which forced hundred of senators and opposition to commit suicide: titus showed himself as an anti-nero like his dad. Finishes the flavian amphitheatre in 80 ce. 100 days of inaugural games: it placed him the good books of the people as they liked bread and circuses.
