Means there are characters that are motivated to do things. Con icts arise between them and are resolved. You feel cheated (ex/ inception- in the end nobody knows if the characters are alive or die) Is a chain of events linked by the notion of cause and effect, it is motivated by characters within time and space. An actual sound that is present in the lm and heard by the actors. Can be voices or actors, sounds made by objects, music from instruments being played non diegetic. Anything that helps the audience understand but does not affect the characters/ story. Would be the soundtrack music because it is not affecting anything in the movie, characters don"t hear it. (ex/ in citizen kane, the characters try to nd out what rosebud is and we nd out at the end) cause and effect. People make assumption (ex/ if its dark and someone looks like dracula, we consider it bad)
