Believed he was too careless with the lives of british soldiers. A man of great intellect (a problem solver) Easterners interested in fighting the war anywhere but the west. Wanted to defeat the attacking bulgarians (did not happen until 1917) Wanted to help the italians and knock the austria-hungarians out of the war. British and french send a combined army. By the time they get there, the italians and austria-hungarians have been fighting for 3 years. British and help did not help at all. Wanted to control access in and out of the black sea. Would allow them to go into istanbul.
