Double double toil and trouble deriving from macbeth. The word witch is not gender specific. Warlocks refer to men, yet witches can refer to both males and females. Science has provided a number of tests to determine if someone is a witch. Witch characteristics: if they have a pet and talk to it, scar/mole/birthmark, physical flaw. Both considered themselves to be the only real and true church and the other side to be in error in all aspects. These groups worked from within using infiltrators known as heretics who practiced something known as heresy. In a religious context, a heresy contradicts the established belief. Deviation from the common belief was regarded as a heresy. Any other religion was considered a heresy (ex: judaism) The knights templar: became a heretical group despite being christian, a military order if knights established during crusades in efforts to capture the holy land, enormous power both physical and financial.
