Jack was a student at queens university who committed suicide in 2010. A police officer told jacks parents that he had committed suicide. Father was confused as to how this could have happened to his seemingly perfect family. He began talking to many health care professionals and students at his high school, and at queens. This led to the jack project which works with the mental health helpline. 500 million people suffering right now with a mental illness. 1 million people commit suicide every year, 90% due to mental illness: change in behaviour= distress, suicidal?= ask! Stay: be a pioneer, an army of young people who are willing to engage in the topic of mental health and suicide. Encompasses the mental, emotional, social, and spiritual dimensions of health. Psychological normality- normal = close to average; psychosocial diversity is valuable. Determined on the basis of symptoms alone; e. g. sadness, anxiety. The absence of mental sadness; negative definition, narrow.
