Lack of clean, hot, or running water. A lack of one or all of these factors may lead to the spread of infectious disease = asthma and other chronic respiratory symptoms or. =mites and roaches and molds and respiratory viruses. Affordable housing: a living situation where <30% of the total income is spent on shelter. 1 in 5 canadians spends more than 50% of their income on shelter. Living in poor housing can have a profound impact on health. Exposure to noxious chemicals, dampness, and allergens can compromise health and mental health.
